Has loads of potential and can probably be gotten cheaply too.... Those bricks houses withstand a lot.... Glad it's not up this way, or I know someone who loves the challenges of such places...

I agree - those windows are very well built and indication of a well built home. The nice thing about buying an older, exposed brick home is that you can easily see how good of a foundation was poured as any weakness shows up in vertical crack lines in the mortar.

So now that you are promoting this little castle Legs, please share with us the listing price???

TURNKEY???? Are you blind? Ya don't need no stinkin key!

Thanks for the lighter version Grunon....as I've said I post 'em like I take them & don't mess with them at all....but your lighter version allows more detail to come forth.

BG, alas, no for sale sign, so I guess interested parties would have to track down the owner & make them an offer they couldn't refuse! It also looks like it's pre-wired for internet.

'K, Navigator.....what the hell beach area burg we had just passed when I scared the hell outta you by hanging a sudden left & sailing off the pavement on that blind curve to take this picture?

Msterieus, it's on the Todos Santos route to Cabo, I'm guessing maybe an hour north of Cabo. It's right on the hwy, right side if your headed south. I just spent half an hour looking for it on GoogleEarth & now I'm cross-eyed. But if Soulpatch is interested, I can direct him to it....unless the jet-lagged person who was in the passenger seat with the map has total recall & can come up with a name for the area that this sound little structure is located near!

You mean your fancy shmancy camera doesn't record latitude and longitude? Seems to me that it was near Pescadero or between it and Todos Santos, but I was semi-comatose until you went off the road there! The Google Earth pics in that area are from 2007, so it's kinda hard to recognize anything with Hwy 19 all torn up now. Looks like you'll just have to drive down there again next week and report back!!

The house is actually in Riverside County, in the town of Rubidoux, just off the 60 Fwy

Ah, beautiful downtown Rubidoux! If I was not moving to La Paz, that would be my next hometown! If a meth lab blows up in Rubidoux, and no one hears it, did it really happen?

Kate: Possibly....just possibly, the Google Earth folks have that capability on the cameras they use....me?....I was just using the basic peons model! And where was your fancy shmancy new camera with that feature??? How about YOU drive back down & pinpoint it's GPS coordinates?

Wessongroup:
I've never even HEARD of Rubidoux, CA! Plus, while it did feel like I'd been driving forfrigginever, I definitely don't recall having been asked to show my papers at any international border once, let alone twice!

Wow, I go away for awhile and check back in and look at all the "leg work"!
I have lived in much worse.....
My wife would be confirmed in her suspicions about me if I were to tell her that was our dream castle......
If it has a view of something wet, like the ocean, it looks like a nice, flat piece of land......I could wrap my head around it!

Darn! Uh, I mean, "Great!" The area from Pescadero & Todos Santos is one of the few in Baja Sur I'd consider! Now -- is the ocean just steps from what was the front door?

Believe it or not I am back at work....just had two days off during which we Fiesta'd our hineys off for my twins 6th birthday that was on Friday......so much fun yesterday. And to think, they almost did not let me go home due to vacancies......
With all the paycuts coming our way it is going to make more sense to retire at 50 than to stay longer to earn more service credit.......these cuts make the point of breakover in retirement salary/vs regular salary much nearer
Damn, another call!
